Acer’s purchase of Texas instruments mobile PC in 1997 laid its foray to the manufacturing of laptops. As such, they have grown tremendously following their excellent marketing strategies that best utilized their distribution channels.

The Acer group today offers formidable technological solutions, and as such, they are position three globally in shipping personal computers and number 2 for notebooks. They have established themselves in the market out of the good leadership of their chief executive officer J.T Wang who is mandated to oversee Acer’s global competitiveness. By 2005, they had a consolidated revenue of $9.7 billion and by 2007 $14.7 billion. They have set the target of becoming number one in offering technological solutions, notebooks, and personal computers.
